Ann Coulter is stunned. How is it, she asks, that she could go through 12 years of public school, then college and law school, and still not know that it was Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution that fueled Hitler’s ovens.

“I never knew about the link between Darwin and Hitler until after reading Richard Weikart’s book,” said Coulter, a popular conservative columnist and a featured expert on the new Coral Ridge Hour documentary, Darwin’s Deadly Legacy, which airs August 26 and 27. Hitler, she said, “was applying Darwinism. He thought the Aryans were the fittest and he was just hurrying natural selection along.”

Coulter is among those who appear on Darwin’s Deadly Legacy, a disturbing look at the historical impact of the theory of evolution and the shaky scientific ground on which it rests.

Other guests on the program include Richard Weikart, author of From Darwin to Hitler, Lee Strobel, author of The Case for a Creator; Jonathan Wells, author of Icons of Evolution; Phillip Johnson, author of Darwin on Trial; Michael Behe, author of Darwin’s Black Box, and Ian Taylor, author of In the Minds of Men. “Among German historians, there’s really not much debate about whether or not Hitler was a social Darwinist,” said Weikart. “He clearly was drawing on Darwinian ideas.”

[...]

“To put it simply, no Darwin, no Hitler,” said Dr. Kennedy, the host of Darwin’s Deadly Legacy. “Hitler tried to speed up evolution, to help it along, and millions suffered and died in unspeakable ways because of it.”

[...]

The legacy of Charles Darwin, Dr. Kennedy said, is “millions of deaths, the destruction of those deemed inferior, the devaluing of human life, and increasing hopelessness.” All this from a theory based on a crumbling scientific foundation—as the special makes plain.

“The time has come,” Dr. Kennedy said, “to recognize that evolution is a bad idea and should be, frankly, discarded into the dustbin of history.”

If THAT scares her, wait untill she hears the REAL secret evil in Darwin's closet.... Evolution Killed Jesus!!!!! It's true! Those evil jews and romans were only able to murder the one and true son of god because of the false powers of Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection! Judas could have only betrayed Jesus by having Darwin in his heart!

It comes down to this - no Darwin = Jesus lives and brings peace to the Earth for eternity.

P.S. "social darwinst" = not having a fucking clue what darwin was talking about.

Grey --

Darwin was not a Darwinist. Marx was not a Marxist. Jesus was not a Christian. Hegel probably wasn't a Hegelian. Hobbes probably knows the answer to that last one. :-D The originators are not responsible for the evils, that have been done by succeeding generations in their names.<IMHO>

It seems to me that the Protocols were more of a driving force behind and an excuse for Nazi genocide attempts. Misguided Darwinism may have provided an additional motivation.<IMHO>

There are all kinds of things that should be taught in schools, but aren't. They used to be. There are all kinds of things that should not be taught in schools, but are. They didn't used to be.

I never cease to be amazed at mankind's ability to take a basically good idea, and to SCREW IT UP!

Grey,
You are so right. Social Darwinism jumped out of the nut bowl before the print was dry on Darwin’s work. It was a corruption of his theory to justify the social, political power of the English elite. “We are where we are because we are obviously the most fit and that ‘fitness’ will be passed to our offspring.” Further, the less fit (read unwashed masses) benefit from the leadership of the socially fit and any enterprise of the unfit would be doomed to failure. Unfortunately this myth became an infectious meme that has existed to today. The Founders of this nation, in many ways, were influenced by it.
We can see how the fitness of Conrad Hilton has manifested itself in Paris. Proof positive.

Hmmm......? Let's see "Origin of Species", first published in 1859. Founders of this nation, 1776. Damned prescient of those founders, lucky guess, I guess. :-D Perhaps he is referring to the founders of some different nations.

TW,
I get your point. Poor discourse on my part. My point was meant to be the attitude of social superiority, and fitness to rule, was prevalent among the founders, which, indeed, would predate “Social Darwinism”. As I stated it, it appears to have given the Founders greater powers than previously realized. Social Darwinism gave “scientific” justification and authority to the long held belief. Besides you are ignoring the work of Homer Darwin a self educated alcohol connoisseur who wrote extensively from 1761 to 1772. He died in 1773 in an altercation with a mule; the mule was also allegedly drunk. Unfortunately, most of his remaining work is illegible.

 :-D Ah yes, Homer Darwin, of course. It seems like I do recall that Jefferson, Franklin, Washington and Paine were, in fact, enthusiastic supporters of Homer's views. Very good! Thanks for the clarifications. :-D

MAKE NO MISTTAKE, social darvinism has NOTHING to to with charles darvins theory of evolution, including survival of the fittest!

Social darvinism is a farse to science, a perfect exemple for 'Junk science' because it is biased towards its agenda.
Its only relation is abusing the name and selecting parts of the 'theory of evolution' totally out of context to form a completely different concept that has NOTHING to do with evolution whatsoever, turning it into a twisted form of creationism full of murder.
The worst of it is that the propaganda blames the scientists for that the propaganda changed the facts into lies to abuse them.

Simplified, saying that Darvin has a dark legacy in the german holocaust is just as absurd as saying Einstein hates the people in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Both is simply an abuse of science for killing that has NOTHING to do with the scientists work or intentions.

Carver,

I agree. Early spin on Darwinism. The spin machine was working well even then.
